The problem has always been Health care and Medical Facilities. Ohumola has lost so many people because of this challenge. Its difficult loosing a loved one just because there is no Hospital/health centre around. You'll need to walk to the neighbouring village (Okafia) just to access a fast decapitating health centre or to Tochi hospital situated between Ozuitem and Uzoakoli. It saddens me each time i hear people die and after enquiries I hear that they would have survived had it been that they got to the hospital pn time. Thank you.

It all started when all our young boys and girls started leaving home . going out to look for green pastures
After leaving home they will go abroad and make it.. But they won't come home to develope our poor village . rather they will come home use the money to club share
Non will invest in the village
So our community has been stagnant as it used to be

If we want to solve the problem in 2019
We need to talk to our brothers and sisters outside the community who we think Has made it
We should advice them on what and what the can use their money to do that will benefit themselves nx the community in general

Just this morning children with gallons were fighting I've water because they had to fetch from a compound close to mine. You see if there was enough water supply say boreholes the fight will not have occurred. The streams are not reliable anymore and seriously we need boreholes to solve this issue. Another problem is light, last year some parts of my community got light but this year nothing, the masses who cannot afford generator and fuel use lanterns at night, Electrical distribution company should come to our aid in 2019 with the help of our political leaders. Lastly good hospitals, Ahhhhh I remember 6 years ago when I fainted and broke my mouth, I had to go to a hospital every far for surgery. We need more medical centers and reliable practioners .. What is the most important problem in my community: Lack of interest in education among young people (Ages 9 - 15).

I have identified two major causes of this problem.
1. The distance of the school to the children of the community. The distance the children cover on foot to access education as there is no public school in Amaise is unimaginable.
2. The closest public schools located in other communnities near Amaise is almost completely dilapidated. They have no water, no good toilet facilities, no library, no good school desk for kids to seat and learn.
This is a dangerous situation.

What can be done in 2019 to solve the problem?

1. Pay a visit to this public school, seek the audience of the school authorities to speak and motivate the children, to give reasons not to relent, to let them see and understand that "Learning acquired in youth ( has the capacity to ) arrests the evil of old age".

2. Provide a source of water (Borehole) in the school complex.

3. Provide toilet facilities for the kids in the school complex.

4. Provide good and quality study desk for the school kids(Some of them somtimes carry chairs from home to school).

5. Work with community and government leaders to bring schools closer to or in Amaise community.( This long term goal ).

When the river Niger overflows its banks, it floods my community and lots of houses are affected.

I feel like the people there need to be educated more and assisted financially. Over there,the people know how to farm i have observed very well. If investors can invest in some farmlands, become large scale farmers,it will attract both business men from the cities and also companies like Nestle i.e corn buying. When this is done,that community will start getting exposed and known there by making the government notice them as they will become a big source of revenue to Kogi government. Surely,it will get developed.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEM IN MY COMMUNITY, (IWOLLO, ENUGU STATE ):
Uncivilization/Ignorance.
There are other threatening problems in my community but above is the other of them all. With respect to its degree in my community,
I emphatically and explicitly categorized them in two majors:
A. Health - most people in my community are suffering from different diseases/illness of the other due to zero or little knowledge of personal hygiene of what they eat, their sexual lives - these evidently have manifested as Tuberculosis, E-Coli, Malaria, Rheumatism, Sickle Cell and so on.
B. Unemployment - again, most people in my community have no or little job barely to fend for them selves due to attitude of mindset/ignorance and lack information to follow modern trends to engage in resourceful jobs that embrace this computer age rather than old perspectives.

WHAT CAN BE DONE IN 2019 TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM: Awareness/Enlightment programs, Empowerment and Creation of functional inspection forum that monitors and regulates the basic empowerment. This will strongly curtail the life threatening problem in my community, for total eradication by aid and financial empowerment seem very tough due to large number of people to be empowered for information is easily transferable than other empowerments.

Beyoutiful said...: The most important need in my community at the present is sex educatio/vocational training. Awoyaya community in Ibeju-Lekki. So many young girls; as young as 15 years already pregnant or with babies living in their parents house with babies with no means to support themselves.
We need a vocational centre where these girls can learn a trade and taught to be better versions of themselves. There will also be a counselling centre where other young girls and boys will be given sex education.

Solutions are:
1. Local government chairman should ensure that nothing happens to the allocation for power supply and as such, should put credible people to oversee that there is constant power supply.
2. Arms and ammunitions should be given out to security officers and not those who receive pennies from criminals.
3. Teachers should go for workshops/seminars and should also be given tests from time to time.
4. Health disbursements should not be tampered with because life has no duplicate. Also, health personnels should be well groomed- be polite, caring and helpful. Don't compound peoples' problems or take a life you can't give...stop making mistakes with peoples' lives because it would haunt you someday. Thanks

There are alot of issues that needs urgent attention in my community, stating which is most important is really difficult, I'm just going to enumerate them in not a particular order.
The rate of young people looking for means make quick money is increasing on a daily basis , so I think it won't be a bad idea if lectures and symposium are organize for proper re-orientation. Such symposium and lectures should include the re-orientation of the girl child on the need to uphold their dignity , because it is always very painful when I read about girls been victimso of ritualist. For example, a girl ran into a man in a shopping mall, and the man demand to have a fore play with her in exchange for fifty thousand naira in the mall convince and the accepted, and after the whole thing, the man left and the girl started bleeding, which led to her death. I think the girl child need re-orientation in this area.
The public /general hospital also need help, so many people are dying as a result of relevant facilities in the hospital. Someone close to me almost died this year , becausethey was no facilities to attend to the newly delivered chikd and the doctors have to transfer them to another public hospital that is not less than 30 mins drive, amidst bleeding.

Unknown said...: Good day ma'am, My name is Oluwadamilola. And one of the most pressing problems in my community is That of No light and water. It's been 9 months, since we last had light in my community and of course if there's no light, there's no water.
Due to this power outage, we were attacked by burglars last Friday, it was a day I'll never like to remember. The last community that was held resulted in asking landlords and land owners to contribute a sum of 50,000 to get a Transformer, my diabetic younger brother needs to keep his insulin in a cold but not too cold condition, but since he can't do that because there's no light, he has to leave it outside over night for dew to drop on it.

There are few solutions to making this a history,

1. I think a petition should be written to the government on the situation of things as regards the light.
2. A community borehole should be drilled and put in place, for the use of the whole community, and a generator should be provided that even when there's no light.. there'll be running water for the whole community.
3. A committee that will see to the running of the two most essential community properties should be set up as well as an auditing body.

It is the mother that gave birth to most problems such as stealing, hunger, poor education and illiteracy, lack of shelter, clothing etc. It stirs up the mind of the youths to do sorts of evil acts in order to satisfy the insatiable human wants in a community.

My suggested remedy to fight poverty is YOUTHS EMPOWERMENT and job opportunities. When the youths are empowered or engaged in something that will bring oily mouth to them, it helps them to provide for themselves and community at large, limiting the level of problem the community face.

Due to the continuous quest for power, the basic amenities needed by the people is being neglected, we have no representatives to communicate with government officials and get some of the national cakes allotted to us and uneven the situation in my community. We are practically living in major throwback and stagnation.
In other to put an end to all these problems in the coming 2019, I think the kingship should be rotational (turn by turn, from one family to another.

So this 2019 i believe the best solution is for the government to send out not just officers and soldiers but atlist trainned officers ready to rescue and respond to points and post to protect the citizens better..
